CoastSavers Programs

There are many ways for eveyone to help reduce marine debris on Washington's Pacific coast. Currently, our efforts are focused on one-day cleanup events. These are lots of fun, they're great exercise, and they remove many tons of debris.

Current Offerings:

Long Beach Winter Cleanup: January 26, 2008
Washington Coast Cleanup Day: April 26, 2008
Long Beach Summer Cleanup: July 5, 2008
Operation Shore Patrol: September 20-21, 2008

Coming Soon:

One-day cleanups are great, but ultimately they are not enough. Debris washes up on our coast all year. And then there's all of the debris still floating out there, and all of the garbage that will accumulate around the world and find its way into the ocean and onto our beaches. We therefore plan to develop a year-round offering of programs to combat the problem every way we can think of, including:

Adopt-a-Beach
Classroom Activities for Teachers and Students
Debris Awareness Program for Businesses and Community Groups
DebrisTracker
In-Home Conservation

Want to Help?

In the meantime, if can't make it to a cleanup, but you still want to help reduce marine debris on Washington's Pacific coast, please consider making a donation or think about becoming a volunteer. If you are a teacher, a community activist, or just someone who really cares, we could really use your help designing and implementing our new programs.

Become a CoastSaver.
Help clean up Washington's beaches, preserve marine wildlife, and educate students about the importance of stewardship.
